About Us

Ethiopian Human Rights Defenders Center
is a board led, non-partisan, not-to- profit organization whose main aim is to protect human rights defenders in Ethiopia, provide and facilitate capacity building trainings and supports as well as broaden the human rights defenders network in Ethiopia into continental and international level.

Ethiopian Human Rights Defenders is aboard-led organization consisting of 5 Board members who assume high positions in thier profession on some of the most active human rights Civil Society Organizations in Ethiopia

EHRDC is working in partnership with DefendDefenders: East and Horn of Africa Human Rights Project, National Endowment for Development (NED), Project Expedite Justice (PEJ), Civil Rights Defenders (CRD), and Agence Française de Développement (AFD)

EHRDC currently has more than 60 organizations and above 200 individual HRD registered as its members who will be benefited from training and supporting opportunities.

EHRDC Provides Physical, mental and economical support for human rights defenders in all regions of Ethiopia

Our center works hard to raise the capacity of human rights defenders in the country, with special consideration to women human rights defenders and human rights defenders with disability

Our Advocacy strategies are designed to give voice to HRDs who are risking their safety to protect the rights of others
