Protection

The EHRDC protection department offers preventive protection strategies for HRDs to enable them to prevent themselves from risk, and we conduct risk-assessments and analysis of the security situation for HRDs in Ethiopia. The EHRDC protection team offers comprehensive, in-depth security and protection capacity building, including trainings, mentoring, and security advice. In addition to this we provide a protection grant for HRDs facing a direct threat from state and non-state actors.

Our Department 

Researched and Compiled an Assessment report on Situations of HRDs in Ethiopia and distributed it to different stakeholders.

Conducted a context analysis of human rights in one-year of conflict era and its impact on the protection of human rights defenders.

We have also prepared and published Internal Protection Manuals, Self-protection Guideline for Human Rights Defenders, and also provided Emergency grants for 4 human rights defenders.
