EHRDC is looking for a Senior Program Officer

The Ethiopian Human Rights Defenders Centre (EHRDC) was established in December 2019 and registered in November 2020 with registration number 5220 at the FDRE Authority for Civil Society Organizations. EHRDC is dedicated to the advocacy, capacity building, and protection of human rights defenders in Ethiopia to ensure their safety, security, and well-being, and evidence-based advocacy.
EHRDC is looking for a qualified Senior Program Officer who is capable of supporting the Program department. The Senior Program Officer holds the responsibility of developing, managing, and evaluating programs and initiatives that uphold the strategic plan and objectives of the organization.
Key responsibilities:
• Strategize, implement, and maintain program initiatives that adhere to organizational objectives;
• Develop program assessment protocols for the evaluation and improvement of projects;
• Maintain organizational standards of satisfaction, quality, and performance;
• Oversee multiple project implementations, ensuring program goals are reached;
• Develop terms of references, concept notes, and project proposals;
• Develop and manage the budget for projects and be accountable for delivering against established business goals/objectives;
• Production of high-quality written reports, press statements, and advocacy materials suitable for publication in English and local languages;
• Undertake regular visits to regions for implementation of project activities and assessing outputs by project officers;
• Work with the program director to identify risks and opportunities across multiple projects within the department; and
• Analyze, evaluate, and overcome program risks, and produce program reports for management and stakeholders.

Qualification Requirement
• Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in Law or any related field with a minimum of 4 years of experience in program management.
• Or a Master’s degree in Human Rights law or any related field and a minimum of 2 years of experience in program management
Terms of payment
As per the organization’s salary scale.
